Tolls and Topes

It's been 35 years since I've visited Mexico.  Things have changed a lot.

Final preparations.  I replaced my worn knobby tire with a new "road" tire.  I changed the oil and polished up the bike Manuel and Patti hosted me at Cafe Mayo.  They called family in Tuxpan and found me a place to stay My GPS wasn't much help in Tampico.  I got so lost that the local Transit Police finally told me to follow them to the bridge.  Hortensia and her mother cooked me a great meal at Les' house. Les (and Max the world's most wimpy doberman) hosted me for three days.
Beach views in Teocolutla The square in Teocolutla Tajin in the rain Tajin's temple of 365 niches I ate lunch waiting for the rain to pass
I saw an aerial show at Tajin Lunch with a view The friendly owner Motorcycle fans by the lake in Catemaco There are wetlands all along Highway 180 in Tabasco
I think this chihuahua liked my motorcycle The road was under water in Ciudad Del Carmen There are topes (speed bumps) everywhere along the highways in Mexico.  My motorcycle goes over them like a jumping horse. Toll bridges and toll roads abound.  Only one had a special price for a motorcycle.  Most are more expensive than they are worth. An interesting variation on the motorcycle taxi
Sunset in Chompoton My hotel for several days Yadita and Steve Gas stations are all state owned in Mexico.  Prices are lower than in the US My $20/night room
An underground cenote The zocalo in Campeche Zocalo nightlife A cenote north of Chichen Itza I go for a swim
Cheesecake The entrance Chichen Itza well in hand Relax My new desktop with skulls
Free motorcycle parking From the loncheria in Piste Mmm! A motorcycle rally on the way to Cancun Parking for the mothership at Senor Frogs
