Plans

The plans for my "dream house" went through several stages. This is the first stage. I wanted a small house with a "garden" feel about it. I started with a square piece of property about 15M square.

After finding an actual piece of property it was necessary to re-arrange things. The actual property was only 12M wide but almost 39M long. So this was the next plan.

Then I found a great free 3D CAD program from Google called Sketchup.

Here's a preliminary drawing of the perimeter walls and roof. I've decided to take an unusual approach to building. I'm going to build the roof first. In the drawing below, only the street side is shown with a wall. After I build the roof, the entire perimeter will be enclosed by a 3.5M wall.

I've begun drawing the actual house that will be built under the roof. Here's where I am as of mid-November.

There are still lots of details to work out. But, the plan is coming along well.
